Clarinda E. Crabtree, Veterinary Technician
Clarinda E. Crabtree has been an invaluable part of the Southern Veterinary Clinic team since September 2014, bringing her dedication, positivity, and creativity to her role as a Veterinary Technician. Her responsibilities are extensive, encompassing patient care, diagnostic testing, medication administration, client education, and supporting her colleagues—whom she affectionately considers her work family. Clarinda takes particular pride in assisting with surgeries and helping clients understand the essentials of caring for their beloved pets.
Clarinda’s positive attitude and unique creativity make her a wonderful presence in the clinic, and her love for animals is reflected in her extensive pet family. She has three dogs: Dallas, a 3-year-old American Bulldog; Jack, a 2-year-old American Bulldog; and Sprinkles, a 5-year-old mixed breed. Her home is also shared by Rocket, a 5-year-old Chinchilla; Drako, a 6-year-old Bearded Dragon; and various other animals, including cats, cows, chickens, mice, and even a mini donkey!
For Clarinda, working at Southern Veterinary Clinic is more than just a job. She finds deep satisfaction in the supportive, family-like environment and believes her boss is truly one of the best in the field. The clinic’s collaborative atmosphere allows her to thrive and offer the best care possible to each patient.
Outside of work, Clarinda loves spending time outdoors and with her family. Her hobbies include relaxing by the river, fishing, beach outings, and the occasional crafting project. Family is central to her life, and she enjoys every moment spent with loved ones.
Kaitlin Gibson, Veterinary Technician
Kaitlin Gibson joined Southern Veterinary Clinic in October 2024 as a Veterinary Technician. With a strong background in animal care, she provides excellent care to pets, including administering vaccines, assisting doctors, and running bloodwork. Kaitlin’s favorite part of her job is loving on sweet fur babies and helping with emergency situations, where she can make a real difference in their care.
Kaitlin brings exceptional organization skills and a passion for working with horses to her role. She holds an Associate’s degree in Science and Process Operations Technology and aspires to become a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) in the future. She has been employed in the animal-related field since 2017, with over four years of experience at an equine-specific practice prior to joining our team.
At home, Kaitlin enjoys life with her two horses, two dogs, one donkey, and one cat. She loves the dynamic environment at Southern Veterinary Clinic, where she gets to work with both small and large animals, and appreciates that everyone on the team genuinely cares about animals.
Outside of work, Kaitlin’s hobbies include riding horses and photography.
Rylee Pierce, Veterinary/Surgery Technician
Rylee Pierce joined our team as a Veterinary/Surgery Technician in August 2023. In her role, she prepares and monitors animals for surgery and provides attentive care and service to clients in exam rooms. Her favorite part of the job is seeing animals become healthier and happier, as well as educating clients on how to care for their pets at home.
Rylee brings a positive energy to our clinic, making each day brighter for her colleagues and clients alike. She loves how the practice is run, especially the emphasis on making every animal feel comfortable and every client feel welcomed.
Outside of work, Rylee enjoys a fulfilling life with her three dogs, two cats, and one horse. She also helps her family on their cattle farm, combining her love of animals with a passion for the outdoors. Her hobbies include fishing on the river, clearing and caring for her land, riding her horse, tending to the cows, and playing guitar—often with her dogs as her audience.
Arleanna M. Goff, Groomer
Arleanna M. Goff has been an essential part of Southern Veterinary Clinic since November 2017, bringing her passion for animals and dedication to her role as a Groomer. Her responsibilities include bathing, grooming, trimming, and cleaning cages, all with a goal of making each pet look and feel their best. Arleanna goes above and beyond by lending a hand wherever she’s needed, whether it’s helping with surgeries, caring for animals, or keeping the clinic clean and welcoming.
Arleanna loves working at Southern Veterinary Clinic, where she’s constantly inspired by the unique cases that come in, from helping a new kitten or puppy to learning new skills each day. She’s a true animal lover, with a diverse array of pets, including a cat, horse, chicken, leopard gecko, goat, sheep, rabbits, turkey, fish, and a frog.
Outside of work, Arleanna enjoys spending time outdoors and staying active. Her hobbies include horseback trail riding, reading, hiking, walking her dog, kayaking, fishing, home improvement projects, lawn care, and exploring new places. Her commitment to animals and positive outlook make her a valuable member of our team, and she’s always ready to make a difference in the lives of pets and their owners.
Sierra Farmer, Kennel Manager
Sierra Farmer joined Southern Veterinary Clinic as our Kennel Manager on July 29, 2024. With over two years of experience in the animal care field, Sierra brings dedication and a hands-on approach to her role. Her responsibilities include administering medications, walking dogs, and ensuring that kennels are clean, comfortable, and ready for pets’ return home. She also assists in surgical procedures, prepping and caring for animals before and after surgery—a part of her role she especially enjoys for the learning opportunities it provides.
Sierra is known for her hard-working attitude and proactive mindset, always stepping up to help the team. Before joining us, she worked at an animal shelter and Magnolia Animal Clinic, building her skills and passion for animal care. Her favorite aspect of working at Southern Veterinary Clinic is the supportive, family-like environment, where the doctors, managers, and coworkers are always ready to lend a hand.
At home, Sierra has an 8-year-old American Pit Bull Terrier and Lab mix named Lacey. In her free time, she enjoys fishing, playing volleyball, listening to music, and spending time with friends.
Chloeana Danielle Helton, Kennel Technician
Chloeana Danielle Helton joined our team as a full-time Kennel Technician on July 1, 2024, and brings with her a lifelong love for animals and hands-on experience from her family’s farm. Growing up caring for everything from dogs to horses and cows, Chloeana has a deep understanding of animal care that she now applies in her work here every day. Her responsibilities include feeding, watering, and walking our patients, as well as providing additional support in surgery, ensuring every pet receives the attention and compassion they deserve.
Chloeana’s favorite part of the job is being part of a team that feels like family. She loves knowing that everyone here shares the same goal: to protect, care for, and find good homes for animals. Chloeana’s positive attitude and sense of humor bring warmth to the clinic, and she’s known for brightening everyone’s day with her laughter and enthusiasm.
Outside of work, Chloeana is dedicated to her own animals—a Yorkie named Lexie, a Husky mix named Bear, as well as her family’s horses and cows. She spends her free time riding her horses, playing with her siblings, and helping out on the farm. A devoted member of her church community, she enjoys serving others and spreading kindness. For Chloeana, making people smile and living by her faith are top priorities, and she believes in giving back through her actions.
Kinley Danielle Smith, Kennel Technician
Kinley Danielle Smith is a dedicated Kennel Technician at Southern Veterinary Clinic, where she brings a positive attitude, a warm sense of humor, and a deep love for animals to her role. Joining the team in August 2024, Kinley’s responsibilities include monitoring animals before and after surgery, caring for boarding pets, and ensuring they feel comfortable and at home. Her favorite part of the job is tending to the boarding animals, providing them with compassionate care and a cozy environment.
Kinley’s passion for animals extends beyond the clinic—she has a lively home filled with a mini Goldendoodle, seven cows, a turkey, and four chickens. In her free time, she enjoys teaching her dog new tricks, and she finds fulfillment in gardening, hunting, writing, and reading. Her faith is central to her life, and her favorite activity is worshiping her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Kinley loves the positive, supportive atmosphere at Southern Veterinary Clinic and enjoys learning something new every day with her team. She looks forward to continuing to bring comfort and joy to the animals in her care.
Anna Laura Batley, Receptionist
Anna Laura Batley joined our team as a part-time receptionist, where she plays a key role in ensuring that every client and their sick pets have the best possible experience at our office. Her responsibilities include greeting customers, answering questions, and making sure pets are well taken care of during their visit. Anna Laura enjoys engaging with clients about their pets and working closely with our dedicated staff to create a positive atmosphere.
Known for her task-driven approach and friendly attitude, Anna Laura is committed to providing excellent service to every client who walks through the door. She is currently enrolled at Jones County Junior College, furthering her education while working with us.
At home, Anna Laura is the proud owner of two rescue dogs, Benji and Grayson, both 5 years old. She enjoys working at our clinic because of the welcoming environment and because she has been a long-time client, bringing her own pets here for years. In her free time, Anna Laura enjoys camping, shopping, and watching movies.
Ashley Dearman, Receptionist
Ashley Dearman serves as the warm and welcoming receptionist at Southern Veterinary Clinic, where her friendly presence helps create a comforting experience for every client and pet that walks through our doors. With over 15 years in the animal care field, Ashley brings a wealth of knowledge and a passion for animals to her role. She joined our team in August 2024 after many years at George County Veterinary Clinic, where she developed her expertise in client relations and a deep understanding of veterinary care.
Ashley is dedicated to making each visit smooth and stress-free, answering questions, and providing helpful information to ensure our clients feel supported from start to finish. Her love for animals extends to her own household, where she cares for her beloved Australian Shepherd and two cherished cats.
One of Ashley's favorite aspects of working at Southern Veterinary Clinic is the family-centered atmosphere, where staff members genuinely care for each other and their patients. Outside of work, she enjoys quality time with her husband and two children, filling her days with family adventures and creating lasting memories. Ashley looks forward to welcoming you to Southern Veterinary Clinic and helping make your experience with us as positive as possible.

Conner Meeks, Receptionist
Conner Meeks is one of the friendly faces you’ll see when visiting Southern Veterinary Clinic. As a receptionist, her responsibilities include warmly greeting clients, checking them in for appointments, recording patients' weights, and guiding them to exam rooms to see the doctor. Conner also provides valuable assistance over the phone, addressing client questions and ensuring everyone feels welcome and well-informed. Her favorite part of the job is meeting clients and seeing all the adorable new animals that come through the doors. Known for her friendly and helpful nature, she brings warmth and positivity to our clinic every day.
With a background as a veterinary technician from 2010 to 2012, Conner has a strong foundation in animal care and a passion for helping pets and their families. She has a full house of animals, including four dogs, two cats, a horse, two goats, a lamb, a duck, geese, and two bearded dragons, which reflects her love for animals of all kinds.
Conner values the supportive, family-oriented environment at Southern Veterinary Clinic, which allows her to balance her work with her family life and her kids' busy schedules. Outside of work, she spends her free time caring for her many animals, cheering on her kids at sports and activities, and enjoying time with family and friends. Conner’s dedication to both her family and her work makes her an integral part of our team.
